Walnut is a high-quality, dense hardwood that makes excellent firewood, producing a pleasant aroma, high heat, and minimal smoke. With a medium-long burn time of 2-5 hours, it is ideal for indoor/outdoor fireplaces and wood stoves, offering a BTU rating comparable to ash or cherry. It splits easily, though it is often considered a "shoulder season" wood because it is less dense than oak.
